An atom is made up of a nucleus filled with protons and neutrons and that is surrounded by clouds of electrons. But each of those is also made up of different subatomic particles such as quarks and bosons, hadrons and leptons and so on.
I have a really great book by Ben Still about particle physics that uses lego to help explain all of these and more. It is really really great so would recommend if you want to learn a bit more 🙂

Don’t think I can add anything useful to Sophie’s answer!
