Brushing teeth regularly and making sure to floss between the teeth is definitely the key ๐ I find the little flossing sticks much easier to use than the dental floss strings ๐

You need to brush your teeth at least twice a day with a toothpaste that contains fluoride – if it hasn’t got fluoride in it then its not going to be much use. Some dentists have told me that you should ideally rush your teeth around an hour or so after each meal – not directly after as the food softens the enamel on your teeth and brushing then wouldn’t be good.
Also, flossing every day and reducing the amount of artificial sugars you eat will help prevent tooth decay too -

Hi, I’m not an expert on tooth decay, but I can pass on what my dentist recommended!
Brush your teeth at least two times a day with a toothpaste that contains flouride. You should also brush your teeth about an hour after every meal, but in today’s society that is slightly more difficult. Floss et least two times a day. Also, sometimes you can rinse daily with mouthwash containing fluoride, but you need to be very careful to use the mouthwash as the instructions explain it. Avoid snacking in between meals, especially sugary snacks.
Also, don’t forget to see your dentist regularly! They are the most competent to tell you what you need to do and what habits you need to change. They can also give you a special toothpaste if it’s necessary.

I do not study tooth decay, but I looked up the NHS advice and it recommends visiting the dentist regularly, cutting down on sugary snacks and drinks, brushing your teeth twice a day with a toothpaste containing flouride, and using floss or an inderdental brush once a day. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/tooth-decay/
