  To be honest I kind of just stumbled upon dementia. In undergrad I did research on schizophrenia and then after, at work placements and such my focus was a lot on depression. It was when I started thinking about doing a masters that the suggestion of dementia as a topic of study was brought up. When I learnt more about it and started studying it a bit further and saw how it impacted peoples’ lives I became more invested and decided to concentrate on it.
  It was mostly being exposed so much to it that made me choose it.
