      Hello
I did 6 years at university to get a BSc in physiology and MB BS (Medicine degree). I then have gone back to university to study for a PhD 11 years after leaving university first time around. I am in my final year of a PhD (usually 3-4 years).

I only made the decision to become a doctor after I had done a science degree… I started off thinking I wanted to be a lab scientist but then realised I enjoyed working with people too and wanted to combine research with seeing patients so I went to medical school. In all I spent 8 years studying at university – 4 years for my science degree at University of Bristol and 4 years for my medical degree at University of Oxford. I am now back at the University of Bristol doing my PhD over 3 years… It feels like I have been a student forever but its all part of getting my career to where I want it to be!
