Hi! I don’t think anyone actually knows at this point. We must be aware of what the guidelines are and do the best we can to stay healthy and keep other safe too. Wash your hands regularly with soap and water, sneeze in your elbow or a tissue you can throw away and don’t go out in large groups if you’re sick, so you don’t give it to other people.

This is very difficult to predict, but I imagine it will be around for a fair few months as it slowly makes its way around the world. We also need to understand whether those who are getting better can get sick again if they are reinfected

It’s hard to tell! It depends on a lot of things that we don’t know about the virus yet. It also depends on what measures are put in place to stop the spread. Every country has made different rules for how often and how many people they test, putting people in quarantine, stopping big events and things like that. The people who work on predicting this often study maths or statistics at university, not biology! The World Health Organization announced that the number of people with coronavirus in China is going down – this is a good sign that China’s strict quarantine measures are working. If other countries are careful to test lots of people and isolate everyone who could have the virus, the number of cases should hopefully start to reduce everywhere.

I think if we knew that there would be no need to worry! It depends on how well the health services respond.

Important question but at the moment its an impossible one to answer I think. There is still so much to learn about the virus. That said its important we all follow the most up to date advice.

We don’t know for sure but I would imagine things will be back to normal in a few months 🙂

Difficult to know at this time, one of the reasons why research and science is so important to try and answer this question and help plan what to do for each country 👍
