From the look of things, probably until the end of the year. The peak infection rate has already passed in China, but will soon come in the UK. The worry is that, if we don’t shut down schools and workplaces, there will be so many people infected at once that the hospitals won’t be able to cope. If we keep people isolated, the coronavirus will hang around for longer, but fewer people will be infected all at the same time, so the hospitals won’t get overloaded.
Hi! I think at this point, no one really knows and making assumptions isn’t at all helpful. The best we can do is stay safe and keep others safe too: wash your hands regularly, don’t touch your face and avoid large groups of people for a while. If we all respect these rules, we’ll see a shorter duration of this crisis and everything will go back to normal sooner.

I’m not studing COVID-19, so I don’t have a good answer to this. At this stage, I don’t think we know, and it will be affected by the different measures that governments put in place, and if we find a cure or a vaccine.
