Hi katier07 – I really enjoy it. Paediatrics is brilliant because one minute my patient might be a tiny baby and then next it might be a 16 year old with a football injury who is taller than me. I love the variety. Working with kids is also really rewarding – they always know when you aren’t being truthful and you can’t hide anything from them so you learn very quickly how to talk to a wide range of people and ages. The job can sometimes be hard, especially if someone is really sick but it is also really rewarding watching people get better. I’m very lucky to do a job I love!

I love working with kids. My job is fully research based however I believe that all research should be shared as widely as possible so I decided to start doing regular school visits. I am always amazed at the engagement and brilliant questions I get from the kids – sometimes they ask something that I had never even considered before!
